One of the Highland's most well-known single malts is Clynelish, and part of its fame is down to its very distinctive beeswax aroma and taste. This 17 year old single cask bottling from Douglas Laing is quite citric to start with (lemon sweets), wood polish and a hint of melted butter. The palate is buttery again with a wonderful sweetness, with the beeswax coming through late on the slightly spicy finish. A faultless wee dram from the village of Brora.
